Values and Vision

A crew of art-fueled, client-focused, audience-centric, digital-savvy, strategic practitioners, Sweibel Arts exists to connect people with art.

Sweibel Arts conjures work that’s worthy of our artists’ talents, our audiences’ attention, and our colleagues’ pride. In an industry searching for direction as trends shift and tides turn, we are a lighthouse: we have an enviable track record of success in recruitment, ticketing sales campaigns across disciplines, and innovation. Our spirit of entrepreneurship has been the force behind trailblazing campaigns such as Berkeley Rep’s Entourage and Rewards by Roundabout, and our cornucopia of recommendations from clients, CEOs, and educators speaks to our enduring enthusiasm for and good-will in our industry. We help arts organizations navigate times of change and new ideas, steering them home to better realize their missions.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility

As the company — now eight years old — has grown, so has Robert's determination to use it as a platform to advance inclusive and anti-racist practices in the industry that has been his professional home for more than 30 years.

Vision Statement: Our company envisions a performing arts industry that showcases the beautiful diversity of our world. We envision an ecosystem of artists, administrators, students, volunteers, fans, and audiences that fully represent the plurality of the global majority. Even so, we recognize that our past practice has upheld predominantly white institutions, and that we have a role to play, now more than ever, in dismantling those oppressive systems. We aspire to business conduct that is decidedly inclusive and equitable, and actively anti-racist. As an organization founded by a white, male baby boomer, we recognize the limitations of our perspective. We hold ourselves accountable to our peers and the industry we love.

We look forward to sharing our work with you.

“Robert Sweibel is one of the best arts marketers in the business – a strategic thinker, excellent collaborator, detail- and data-driven manager, clear communicator, and all around great person. He helped Trinity Rep with interim services during a Director of Marketing transition, leading the efforts to produce one of our highest grossing productions in theater history. He was great to work with, and I would recommend him to anyone.”
